Background and Education
Brian is a registered investment advisor and a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNERTM. He graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Personal Finance from the University of Wisconsin Madison and also holds a master’s degree in Personal Financial Planning and an MBA from Texas Tech University.
Brian is a member of the Financial Planning Association, the Academy of Financial Services and NAPFA, the National Association of Personal Financial Advisors. The mission of NAPFAs members is to provide comprehensive client-centered advice to individuals and families. NAPFA’s continuing education requirements exceed those of any other association of financial advisors and all members must sign a Fiduciary Oath that they explicitly promise “to place the clients’ interests first.”
Brian is a board member and treasurer for the Morrison-Shearer Foundation which serves to preserve and exhibit the works and documentary materials relating to the careers of photographer Helen Balfour Morrison and dancer-choreographer Sybil Shearer. Brian is also an Eagle Scout and adult volunteer, currently serving the Order of the Arrow (Scouting’s National Honor Society) as the lodge adviser for Takhone Lodge in the Pathway to Adventure Council. When he’s not working or volunteering he can be found following the Badgers and Packers, playing the piano, or exploring around Chicago.
